In 2010, Kathy Wise, DME’s president, was having a hard time getting a prospect to return her calls. So she did what she does best…she found a way to get his attention. Utilizing one of our artists to design a roll of customized wrapping paper with his name and company logo and one of our digital printers to print a roll, she wrapped a gift and sent it off.
Two days later, the prospect called her back.
Light bulbs went off and GiftSkins was created. Giftskins is our line of personalized wrapping paper and we believe was the first of its kind. From there what we call our ‘retail’ division was born. Bar Mitzvah and Communion invitations were next and followed by several others of a similar nature. Utilizing aggregate printing methods, we took many small orders and printed them together to make them profitable. Soon DME Connect was created to utilize the same methodology. That’s another story.
